Around the World Food Festival Has Mouths Watering

Every other year our Diversity Task Force organizes a very popular event called "The Around the World Food Festival". It's a celebration of food and cultures representative of our employees. This year's event is taking place in our parking lot and for the first time will also include multiple food trucks from which our employees can sample all sorts of different cuisines. As always, a lot of our employees are also cooking and preparing their favorite recipes and I can vouch for the fact that we have a lot of good cooks who work at Pinnacol. I went out early to grab some 'before' pictures as I know there is a lot of hard work and planning that goes into putting on such an event. The Around the World Food Festival wouldn't happen without that hard work so on behalf of the nearly 600 employees who are about to satiate their appetites I'd like to say thank you to all those who arranged the event as well as to those who's work over hot stoves we'll be sampling shortly.

Not to be forgotten of course is the message behind this tasty event. Pinnacol's employees come from a tremendous variety of backgrounds and we recognize that this variety makes us a better company and a better place in which to work and serve our customers.

We were talking among the HR team this morning that the company would probably gain about a thousand pounds today. Food is a constant perk and constant challenge at Pinnacol and we warn new employees about watching out for the dreaded "Pinnacol 15" (pounds).

As folks started to pick up their trays it was apparent they were going to have some tough food decisions to make. Where to begin? What to sample? What have I not had before? One of the food trucks was sampling cuisine from the Philippines and that seemed like some of the more unique food to try.

Over at the Pinnacol Chef's line there was all sorts of epicurean fare laid out and it was clear no one was going to go hungry today.
I'm sure each of our employees will find a particular favorite and perhaps even be tempted to ask for a secret recipe or two. It's said that food is a language that brings people together and if today's event was any indication there was a whole lot of talking (and eating!) going on.
